Hario "Drop" Water Dripper

Cold drip and hot brew produce fundamentally different cups. The slow, cold extraction pulls less acidity from the grounds, leaving a cleaner, smoother result where the actual flavour of the coffee comes through clearly. The Hario Drop makes this process as simple as it gets.

Add your grounds, pour in cold water, wait an hour. That's essentially it. What comes out is a 600ml concentrate you can drink straight over ice, mix with milk, or keep in the fridge for up to two weeks and pour from whenever you want it. The slim profile fits a standard fridge door, so it stores as neatly as it brews.

Good coffee doesn't always have to be fast. Sometimes letting it sit is exactly the point.

How to Brew

1. Attach the strainer to the strainer holder by slotting firmly into the grooves, and set in place on the lower bowl.
2. Add 50g of freshly ground coffee into the strainer. Please note: do not press the mesh section of the strainer forcefully from the outside, as this may cause damage.
3. Pre-wet your coffee grounds by pouring a small amount of cold water over the grounds to moisten. Stir carefully using a bamboo paddle or a spoon to ensure all of the grounds are saturated.
4. Flatten the pre-wet coffee grounds and add a paper filter on top.
5. Push the drip part firmly into the inner holder until it catches, then fit both parts down into the lower part of the upper bowl.
6. Attach the upper bowl so that the protruding sections on the outside of the upper bowl fir into the grooves on the inside of the strainer holder.
7. Pour your 600ml of cold water into the upper bowl (there is a measurement line on the upper bowl) and attach the lid.
8. Set aside while your coffee brews. This will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Keep refrigerated after brewing and consume within two weeks.

If dripping slows or stops, adjust the drip part with the lid removed. Keep upright at all times, the lid is not airtight. Carry from the base, not the upper bowl.
